The electro-pop duo known as Phantogram is performing a handful of headlining shows in the United States before heading overseas to continue their show in a worldwide tour.
Beginning March 11 in Chicago at the Riviera Theatre the duo (vocalist/bassist/keyboardist Sarah Barthel and guitarist Josh Carter) will hit primarily Midwestern cities(St. Paul, MN – March 12, Madison, WI – March 13, The Canopy Club in Urbana, IL – March 14, Cincinnati, OH – March 16, and Atlanta, GA – March 17) before heading over to Europe for an extended tour.
They will be back in the States in June, but focusing on festivals before hoping back on a plane back to Europe.
The small clubs on the first six dates of the tour may be the last time fans in the States will get to see the eclectic duo in such an intimate setting the rest of the year.
With their rise in popularity (egged on by the hits “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore” and “Same old Blues” from their most recent album Three , and “Fall in Love” from their second album Voices it won’t be long before they breakout and headline bigger venues.
Their live act brings swirling guitar riffs surrounding haunting vocals from one of the bright lights in the music industry in Barthel. Check out this review from one of their opening dates with the 1975 last year to get a feel for what to expect. It is a show not to miss, especially in such an intimate venue.
But don’t just take our word for it, check them out and see for yourself.
Tickets for the Canopy Club show are still available and can be purchased at the venue ($25 advance/$30 D.O.S.) or online here.
