John Prine to Play Peabody Opera House March 10

Country/Folk legend John Prine is set to perform Friday, March 10 at the Peabody Opera House.

The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee and two-time Gramy-award winner is regarded as one of the most influential songwriters of his generation. He has influenced artists such as Bob Dylan,  Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash and Roger Waters, to name just a few.

Many have also recorded songs from Prine’s extensive catalog, including Cash, Kristofferson, George Strait, Old Crow Medicine Show, Bette Midler, the Everly Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Carly Simon and more.

Prine is touring in support of his most recent album For Better, or Worse where he teamed up with some of country music’s biggest female singers, like Alison Karuss, Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves to tackle some carefully chosen classics.

Tickets for the 8:00 PM show, which will feature Amanda Shires as a special guest, are on sale now and can be purchased from ticketmaster.com, the Scottrade Center Box Office or by phone at 1-800-745-3000.

A handful of tickets still remain on the orchestra level but should be gone by show time.
