Jinjer’s Duél Tour Brought a Full Night of Metal to St. Louis
— by Carrie Zukoski
The Pageant cleared out everything on the main floor that wasn’t affixed to something, making plenty of room for moshing and crowd surfing during Jinjer’s North American Duél Tour 2026. Nearing the end of their 37-city tour, fans were more than primed on what to expect from the three metal bands performing on this summer night in St. Louis, and they were pumped from the get-go.
Entheos, the prog-death metal band from Santa Cruz, opened the night straight up at 7 p.m. and obliterated the growing crowd with 40 minutes of their divine, atmospheric, raw metalcore. Lead singer Chaney Crabb commanded the stage with her dark goth queen ensemble and mannerisms. A few fans could be heard shouting out “I love you” in between the searing songs that included “All for Nothing,” and “Hell is a Part of Me.” Crabb took a moment to introduce “Golden Crown,” which she said will be available on their forthcoming album to be released on October 23. After thanking St. Louis for coming out early, the band ended with the crushing “The Sinking Sun” and also encouraged fans to “support each other.”
Up next came Tokyo-based Crystal Lake, with guest lead singer Fire From the Gods’ Myke Terry. The metalcore band, formed in 2002, brought hardcore guitar, pounding drums, and crushing technical skill to their short, 35-minute set. The crowd rallied and moshed throughout the majority of the band’s time on stage, that included “Bludgod,” “Neversleep,” and “The Weight of Sound,” from their January album of the same name.
Headlining the night, the favorite Ukrainian metalcore band, Jinjer, took the stage at 9:10 p.m. And the next 80 minutes were a whirlwind of sound that, at times, mixed any and everything from genres that include R&B, soul, funk, jazz, reggae, and groove into their nümetal/metalcore base. After a few moments of being mesmerized, fans quickly began moshing and crowdsurfing throughout the set that mixed in several songs from their most recent album (released in February 2025), such as “Duél,” “Hedonist,” and “Someone’s Daughter,” to fan favorites such as their breakthrough hit “Pisces” and “I Speak Astronomy.”
All three bands brought inclusion and community, and everyone there felt it and cherished every moment.
