On a nearly perfect Thursday evening at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis, MO for the Cage The Elephant show. But we were treated to four bands who are all different but equally talented in their own right.

Starting the night off with her microphone stand adorned in flowers was Willow Avalon with her Honky Tonk style which the early crowd adored. The Georgia native brought her rhythm section with her to perform songs like “Homewrecker”Ā  fresh off the release of her recent LP, Stranger.

London-based act Bakar was up next. Excited that he got in from London the day before and was able to watch a St. Louis Cardinals game. He looked rather angelic as he was backlit while performing his songs and even pointed out the gorgeous sunset behind the crowd which had everyone in awe.

Young the Giant took the stage for the next hour playing their indie rock tracks which captivated the audience. With awesome lead guitars and keyboards they made it known that they’re not new to the scene anymore.

Delivering a great mix of ballads and vibey songs and great lighting they captivated the audience.

Cage the Elephant took the stage at exactly 9:25pm starting with “Broken Boy” and “Cry Baby”.

With amazing pyrotechnics they started the show with a literal bang. Matt Shultz, the lead singer performed with a broken foot by using a scooter on stage.

Shultz’s performance was a display of showmanship, as he zipped around on stage, popping wheelies and drifting. The crowd sang along and pumped their fists to familiar favorites like “Cigarette Daydreams”, “Come a little closer” and “Ain’t no Rest for the Wicked”.
