A Day To Remember brought their eclectic style of pop-punk hardcore to the Saint Louis Music Park on Saturday and brought some friends along for the ride.

In Town in the still early stages of their “Least Anticipated Album Tour” ADTR isn’t touring in support of a new album (Their most recent was 2021’s You’re Welcome. Though they have released a stand-alone single in May called “Feedback”, which they performed Saturday.) but rather just a tour to get back in touch with the fans. And the Fans are loving it, so far.

Saint Louis Music Park was filled with fans itching for a new album from the quartet.Ā  ADTR (Vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, guitarists Neill Westfall and Kevin Skaff, and drummer Alex Shelnutt, along with a touring bassist Bobby Lynge) came out smoking with “Stick & Bricks” (and a LOT of confetti), “All I Want”, and “2nd Sucks”.

Aside from the tons of confetti, they had lots of pyro, smoke cannons, crowd surfing, beach balls, circle pits, and toilet paper cannons shooting far into the crowd. The toilet paper wound up in the rafters and one of the insanely large ceiling fans hung from the rafters.

It was very hot out, low 90’s, and McKinnon practically begged for the fans to be turned on prior to “All Signs Point to Lauderdale”. The St. Louis Music Park staff complied and on went the fans. Immediately after the song McKinnon noticed the TP getting intertwined in the fans and said “You know I think I know why the fans were off. I totally forgot that was happening right then, maybe we should turn it off. It does look cool, if it breaks it’s not our fault! Who has to clean that off?”Ā  Ooops. Cool effect, though.

They then burst into “The Dangers That Started a Fire” before McKinnon asked for lighters to be lit up for “If It means A Lot to You”, then came out to a lot more confetti.

ADTR played songs they hadn’t played in a long time (2010’s “It’s Complicated”) and a cool punk cover of Kelly Clarkson’s hit “Since U Been Gone”. It was pretty much nonstop song after song for 90 minutes, and left the fans gratified.

The Story So Far held the support slot with a hard set. Vocalist Parker Cannon didn’t say much to the crowd except to thank ADTR and to remind everyone that they have a new album dropping June 21 (I Want to Disappear).

The crowd didn’t seem to mind the absence of chit chat and were really into the show as they drove through a 14-song set that included “Letterman”, “Nerve” and “Roam”.

The Story So Far is kind of a throwback No-nonsense workhorse band. Its members (Cannon, guitarists Kevin Geyer and Will Levy, along with touring drummer Mike Ambrose and touring bassist Nik Bruzzese) mostly stayed in one spot each and just played the crap out of what they were playing. Music first, showmanship 2nd.

Four Year Strong held the other support slot with a quick but lively 8 song set. Vocals were split between vocalist/guitarists Alan Day and Dan O’Connor while bassist Joe Weiss took over, as well. Ony drummer Jake Massucco didn’t take a turn at the mic. They had a lot of energy, to be sure, running through songs like “Wasting Time (Eternal Summer)”, “Get Out of My Head”, and “We All Float Down Here”.

The band will be releasing a new album Analysis Paralysis on August 9.
