A Flock of Seagulls and Strangelove-The Depeche Mode Experience performed to a large crowd Thursday night at The Pageant in St. Louis’ Delmar Loop.

A Flock of Seagulls is as well known for their infectious hit single “I Ran (So Far Away)” as they are for their teased haircuts (thanks to vocalist Mike Score, who was an accomplished hairdresser.). On MTV in 1982 they were a staple of the new wave era, and Mike Score’s hair style is forever embedded in pop culture.

Their set started off with “Modern Love is Automatic” from the 1982 self-titled debut album by A Flock of Seagulls. Mid show they performed two good songs from their first album “Telecommunication” and “Space Age Love Song”, along with some newer songs. Obviously, everyone who sees A Flock of Seagulls wants to hear “I Ran (So Far Away)” which closed their 15-song set, leaving the crowd smiling at the end of the show. See the full set list below.

A Flock of Seagulls appeared with Strangelove, a Depeche Mode Cover Band, as the opener. They pumped up the crowd of all ages with favorite songs such as “People are People”, “Enjoy the Silence” and “Personal Jesus”. Strangelove- The Depeche Mode Experience is considered by many to be the premier Depeche Mode tribute band. They have created the classic Depeche Mode sound that fans love.
