When I get the honor of covering a tour kick off show, not unlike the show Wednesday night at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis, I can most always count on a high energy highly anticipated concert. Now, add that kick off show atmosphere with masks, makeup, heavy metal and rabid fansā¦you have my own little slice of utopia!
Hello all, Keith here to chat about the āFreaks On Paradeā tour featuring Rob Zombie, Mudvayne, StaticX and PowerMan 5000. While I was unable to see this show and review it in its entirety some things did pop out to me during my time in the photo pit.
First off, Mudvayne is BACK folks and back with a vengeance! Chadās vocals are strong and accurate and his energy during performance is unmatched. If you are a fan of this band’s music I suggest you buy tickets post haste because when word gets out about this powerhouse Mudvayne set they will go quick!
Secondly, StaticX. This band is still out there bringing the high energy show straight at you with no remorse. Yes, Wayne is no longer with us but front man Xer0, who hides his identity with a Wayne Static mask, brings all the energy that loyal fans will want and appreciate.
PowrMan 5000 is always a great band to watch, and they are as entertaining as ever. With their high energy and notable stage antics they are a perfect fit for this tour without question.
Lastly, there is Mr. Rob Zombie. Rob is no stranger to big time shows with big time production and the fluidity with which he and his band perform is poetry in motion. Along with the tight, high-energy performance comes the continued strength of Zombieās vocals; all these shows over all these years and the vocal delivery never once left me wanting.
Including in the tour kickoff was the first live performance of “Shake Your Ass – Smoke Your Grass” from last year’sĀ The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy album, and a “The Munsters” movie trailer prior to diving into “Dragula” to close his set.
John 5 and the rest of the group are amazing in support of Zombieās over the top stage presence. From the props to the music and production to the deliveryā¦this tour kick off was an amazing successā¦at least in one manās opinion.
