They always say “third time is the charm”. Everyone is hoping that rings true for the twice delayed Def Leppard/Mötley Crüe co-headlining Stadium Tour that will roll into Busch Stadium on Tuesday, July 5 for a massive show that many are calling the concert event of the year.
For those wondering if the tour will happen, worry no more, it’s on:
“The Stadium Tour”, much hyped for bringing Mötley Crüe out of retirement, was initially scheduled for June 25, 2020 in what was going to be the biggest concert summer in St. Louis when it was announced in December of 2019. Then Covid-19 hit and the tour was postponed until July 6, 2021. But with the continuing pandemic it was decided to push it back again to 2022.
Joining Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe will be Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. With over 1 million tickets sold expect this show to sell out like it has in many cities. Surprisingly, there are some tickets still available, but don’t expect those to be there come curtain drop.
“On behalf of the band, we’re beyond thrilled that the stadium tour is finally happening this summer,” Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott said in a statement. “It’s been a while coming and we can’t wait to get back on stage again and we can’t wait to see you in one of the many stadiums soon!”
Mötley Crüe said, “It’s on! We don’t think we’ve ever looked forward more to kicking off a tour than this one. We can’t wait to finally see all the fans across North America again. Get ready for a wild ride this summer!”
All tickets purchased for the previously scheduled dates WILL BE HONORED.
Since the 2nd rescheduling the bands announced the addition of five more dates on the tour in Toronto, Vancouver, Indianapolis, Edmonton, and Las Vegas.
