Tenacious D, the fabulously popular rock-comedy duo featuring Jack Black and Kyle Gass, will be making a stop Friday at Stifle Theatre on their “Post Apocalypto Tour”.

Only a few tickets remain for the show. You can get tickets at the Stifel Box office or online HERE

This will be the duo’s first time playing the Gateway City since a 2012 intimate performance at the Pageant.

Apart from being a highly successful actor Jack Black is a very accomplished musician. A Grammy award winner, with multiple gold and platinum records to his credit. Together with his songwriting and singing partner, Kyle Gass, they found their comedic style and rock sense fit perfectly together, and formed a duo that would shake the foundation of rock as we know it.

The Duo formed 20 years ago and quickly rose to fame with the release of their self-titled first album in 2001. Fun fact: they actually played in Saint Louis four times in a seven month time span, they were so popular. They played at The American Theatre, The Family Arena, Savvis Center (Now Enterprise Center), and the UMB Bank Pavillion Amphitheatre (now Holywood Casino Amphitheatre) for Pointfest 14 between October 2001 and May 2002.

The duo released two other albums ( 2006’s The Pick of Destiny, and 2012’s Rise of the Fenix) before dropping Post-Apocalypto in November of last year.

If you have never seen a Tenacious D show, let me tell you it is an experience. Your face will melt from getting rocked all night and your cheeks will hurt from laughing too much, which will make you forget that your face was just melted off.

Or it could be the other way around.

Either way, get those devil horns up and prepare to rock out. Or don’t, and whine about how your life missed out on this epic awesomeness.
