Okay, we know two things for certain, St. Louis loves Kid Rock and Kid Rock knows how to throw a party so the concept of a New Year’s Eve concert at Scottrade Center was destined to be a good time. Kid and his Twisted Brown Trucker band rolled into town with special guests for the evening “Tim Montana and the Shrednecks”, and packed the house.

The buzz of excitement and anticipation filled Scottrade and the surrounding area before the doors were ever opened. When the crowds were settled in and ready, Tim and the Shrednecks started the show off right. They warmed the crowd and got them ready to ring in the new year with their tunes “Weed and Whiskey” and “Cowboys on the Run”.

To add to the party feel of the evening these boys even threw in a cover of “Long Haired Country Boy”, played to the tune of the mighty Led Zeppelin classic “Rock and Roll”, and a sweet little version of “California Love”. All in all, a great opening set to start the party.

Kid Rock took the stage and from the moment his “Bad M.F.” intro struck its first note the crowd was electric. The interesting thing about a Kid Rock live performance is that his fans are loyal, and a live Kid Rock show is almost like they are going to church. From the very minute Kid started to “preach” to the last word he spoke, the crowd was at his beck and call. They sang back to the band on cue, were rowdy when they supposed to be and quiet and attentive when Kid had something to say.

Kid did not disappoint, throughout the evening we heard selections from all his albums including some deeper cuts for the seasoned fans as well as all other selections you would expect from a Kid Rock party. Kid treated the crowd to an intimate performance, just himself and an acoustic guitar, of a new song not yet recorded. The evening was highlighted with a massive balloon drop at midnight after a packed Scottrade Center counted down in unison.

Kid was accompanied by the Twisted Brown Trucker Band and together they never fail to deliver. The evening also included a visit from Beavis and Butthead, a DJ scratch solo, a guitar solo and a drum solo all performed by Kid himself.

Kid is now in the process of preparing for his upcoming tour which kicks off this January in OK, tickets and information can be found at Kidrock.com. Tour dates seem to be limited at this time, but if the party comes near you, it is worth your time.
