Country artist Darrell Scott is coming to Saint Louis, making a stop at the Sheldon Concert Hall on Wednesday November 9.

Scott is touring in support of his newest release Couchville Sessions .

Scott (Not to be confused with the pastor of the same name) has collaborated with numerous artists including Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle and Sam Bush. He has even worked with rock icon Robert Plant as a member of Band of Joy, playing multiple instruments for their 2010 release Band of Joy.

Multiple artists have covered Scott’s songs like Brad Paisley with “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive”, the Dixie Chicks who covered “Long Time Gone” and “Heartbreak Town”, Keb’ Mo’ covered “Proving You Wrong” and Faith Hill covered “We’ve Got Nothing But Love to Prove”.

There have been many others to cover Darrell Scott songs, which suggests that not only does he write kick ass songs, but is much respected in the music industry. Also winning the AMA Song of the Year award (songwriter), being nominated for a Grammy and named ASCAP’s Sonwriter of the Year doesn’t hurt his street cred either.

The Couchville Sessions is a collection of songs recorded by Scott fifteen years ago, and released now because he feels they are too good to keep under wraps. The album has garnered critical acclaim and his live performances draw rave reviews.

Tickets are still available from $25-$35 and can be purchased online or at the Sheldon’s box office.
