In shock by the amount offered per week, Ned, I mean Dewey, accepts the position at Horace Green.
No one expected the education they received from Mr. Schneebly and he didn’t expect the education he ended up getting from them either.
From the beginning of the number “You’re in the Band” you can tell that Mr. Schneebly has a special connection with the children that no one else has. In the number “If Only You Would Listen” you begin to see that all of these children have something in common. While they all have parents that only want the best for them, they also have children so busy TRYING to provide for them, that they are forgetting to slow down to stop and listen.
In act 2 not only has Mr. Schneebly had a positive impact on the students, he now seems to be wearing down the schools rigid principal Rosalie(played by Lexie Dorsett Sharp).
Rosalie sheds her dry exterior over a drink and a little Stevie Nicks. Where she confesses that striving for perfection has turned her into a real B#$%@.
